Language Exists Inside of Language, Secreting a Secret Sound Similar to Silence maps the complex relationships between visual and textual representation. Using various styles and strategies, Ware develops contexts that allow for an interplay between image and text. These contexts ask the viewer to consider similarities and differences, intersections and frictions between these two modalities.
About Joshua Ware:
Joshua Ware is an artist and writer who lives in Denver, Colorado. His fine and public artworks have appeared or are on display widely across the Southwest. He is the author of Homage to Homage to Homage to Creeley (2010) and Unwanted Invention / Vargtimmen (2015). Ware frequently writes freelance art reviews and essays, most recently as for Southwest Contemporary. In 2012, he earned his doctorate from University of Nebraska in English Literature and Creative Writing, focusing on the intersection between textual and visual art. Leon Gallery hosted his last solo show And You May Find Yourself Becoming Oblique in an Age of Mass Extinction in December 2022
