Date: November 1, 2020

Time: 1pm - 2pm

Location: Leon Gallery

Please join us at 1pm on Sunday, November 1st, 2020, as we install Brooklyn-based Filmmaker and Photographer, Raafi Rivero’s, “Unarmed” project in our gallery windows, where they will remain on display through the afternoon of Saturday, November 7th.

Originally begun in 2013, “Unarmed” is a art-based community project that strives to educate and inform local communities about the tragic and unnecessary deaths of unarmed Black men and women at the hands of the police. Rivero has recently installed these memorialized jerseys throughout the US in Brooklyn; Manhattan; Louisville, KY; Kenosha, WI; Minneapolis, MN; and soon Denver and Colorado Springs, CO. The artist will be on hand to talk with visitors about the project and his cross-country travels, in the midst of a volatile and divisive moment in our nation’s history.
